They look for criminals and offenders. They solve problems and conflicts encountered by ordinary people. Sometimes, they save other people’s lives and health at the same time putting their own at risk. The work of police officers is a kaleidoscope of different cases – from minor offences to major crimes. Abuse and violence at home and on the streets, drugs and problems encountered by depraved youths, thefts, burglaries and also difficult quarrels among neighbours and in families are part of their everyday life in Na patrolu.

The police officers from our series used to wear police uniforms and therefore, they know what the reality on patrol looks like – serious problems and tragedies interweave with simple, minor, sometimes funny cases that happen to ordinary citizens. Each 22-minute episode includes 2 or 3 stories. Each story shows an intervention by one patrol made during the day or night. The elements of the format, such as receiving the call and the intervention itself are designed in accordance with actual police procedures, which emphasises the real action and suspense. In addition, the police officers’ practical comments explain to the audience the nuances of the law and intensify the emotions that accompany interventions.
